Partners & Partnership Programs
At Glasgow University Business Club (GUBC), we believe in the power of collaboration and the mutual benefits that partnerships bring. By working with university societies, businesses, and organizations, we create unique opportunities for students and partners alike to grow, connect, and thrive. Our partnership programs are designed to foster long-term, meaningful relationships that promote shared goals and elevate both our club and our partners to new heights.
Partnership Programs
University Societies We actively collaborate with a wide range of student societies across the University of Glasgow to provide multidisciplinary opportunities for our members. Our partnerships with societies such as the Entrepreneurship Society, Consulting Society, Marketing Society, and FinTech Society have allowed us to offer cross-functional events, workshops, and networking opportunities. These collaborations help students gain diverse insights into various business-related fields while fostering an inclusive and supportive community.
Corporate Partnerships We are proud to partner with prominent businesses that are keen to invest in the next generation of business leaders. Corporate partners benefit from increased visibility on campus, access to top talent, and the opportunity to engage with ambitious students through workshops, networking events, and guest lectures. Some of our notable corporate partners include Amplifyme, which has played an active role in mentoring our members and supporting our events.
Local Businesses Supporting local businesses is a cornerstone of our partnership program. By working closely with companies in the Glasgow area, we aim to build lasting relationships that provide students with real-world experience, while also helping businesses engage with fresh talent and new ideas. Our partnerships with local establishments such as The Glasgow Market Hub and Manuka Cafe have resulted in successful collaborations on events such as business mixers, seminars, and social gatherings.
Collaborations
Our collaborative efforts with external partners and societies have brought to life some of the most memorable and impactful events at GUBC. Here’s a snapshot of some of our past and ongoing collaborations:
- GU Meet-Cute ‘24 (Valentine’s Event): Partnering with Enactus Glasgow and 25 other university societies, we co-hosted this fun and engaging Valentine’s event, which included dinner, speed dating, and a DJ-led afterparty. This large-scale event fostered connections between students from all academic backgrounds, creating a night of entertainment and networking.
- The Business and Social Enterprise Competition: In collaboration with Enactus Glasgow and Glasgow University Entrepreneurship Society, we launched this innovative competition, providing students with the opportunity to pitch their social enterprise ideas to a panel of academics and business professionals. The event culminated in cash prizes for the winners and mentorship to help turn their ideas into reality.
- Networking Event with HSE Business Club: Our collaboration with the HSE Business Club and other business societies from across Scotland led to a successful networking event at Grosvenor Cafe. This evening allowed students to exchange ideas, form professional connections, and learn from guest speakers across different industries.
- LinkedIn Workshop 2023: Partnering with the College of Social Sciences, we co-hosted a LinkedIn optimization workshop led by Dr. Dickon Copsey. Students learned how to create professional LinkedIn profiles, post content, and build networks to enhance their employability.
